I was asked to create a swanky, fun, and festive invitation for my client’s 60th birthday bash which will be taking place the day after Christmas so that out-of-state relatives would be able to celebrate both the holidays and this special birthday with her. She loves glitz, bling, martinis, and Las Vegas so we created a modern martini glass filled with colorful ornamental baubles accented in silver glitter. This double layer pocketfold was created using metallic papers for that extra touch of shimmer. Coordinating response cards featuring a single ornament and a glittered seal to fasten the pocketfold closed finished off this invitation suite.

Thank you Connie for allowing me to design such a fun invitation for your special occasion, and a ‘Happy Birthday’ to you!

I had so much creating Luca’s invitations! I was inspired by the famous cowboy baby shower invitations at HWTM as well as these creative bachelor party invitations from Adventures in Renovating a Brooklyn Limestone. I have been dying to create an invitation with wood, but didn’t know when the perfect event would come along. Originally, Luca wanted a train birthday but decided over the summer he wanted a western roundup! The perfect event came along and the invitations were born!

Things are coming together nicely for Cibella’s upcoming birthday. I am receiving boxes of party supplies, favors, and decor almost daily and my dining room table has become party central. The UPS man knows well, knocking on the door saying, “More Poppins supplies!”
As promised, I wanted to share the invitations I designed for the party.
Back when Cibella decided on the party concept, I immediately thought of a carousel horse. I had a horse designed to resemble her absolute favorite carousel horse (Cinderella’s horse in Disney World, but according to Cibella – the horse belongs to Aurora!) and the carousel horse in Disneyland dedicated to Mary Poppins.

My daughter and I decided to use lavender as the primary color for the party (a nod to Mary’s carousel horse in the movie) with pinks and blues as accent colors.

I created a 2 layer pochette invitation. A rounded square seal featuring a silhouette of Mary flying keeps the invitation closed. I used the wrap around mailing label again, and designed it to feature memorable icons and images based on the movie – a spoonful of sugar, a penguin waiter, Mary’s boots, and the carousel horse.

I think they turned out ‘practically perfect in every way’ to coin a phrase from Mary herself!

Things have been wonderfully busy at Belleza e Luce! I have 3 personal parties that I am prepping for in addition to those of my fabulous clients.
The Chanel-inspired baby shower invitations for my sister turned out beautifully! I was so pleased with the final outcome after many revisions. I am a such a perfectionist, and spent many hours creating the design, reworking the colors, and finally assembling them. Until yesterday when we finally had rain (this summer we’ve had no rain, I mean none – the grass is more like hay, the deer ate my garden), our deck had pink pixie dust scattered about it.
Without further adieu, here are the invitations …
The suite consists of 3 pieces fastened together with a pewter brad nestled inside a black box lined with pink glitter and sealed with a wrap-around mailing label using the same scrollwork as the invitation. The invitation displayed a signature quote of the famous Coco Chanel:
a girl should be two things: classy and fabulous

We are very excited to share with you 3 new designs in our Wedding Collection. They were created as Save-the-Dates but would be wonderful as invitations as well!
The first is our Vintage Silhouette Couple with its nod to the Victorian era. It is a wonderful choice for a traditional couple who wants a bit of a modern twist on an invitation without getting carried away.

The second is our Butterfly Duo shown in aqua blue and gray. The colors, of course, can be customized and we are currently working on this style in jeweled tones for a 2011 bride-to-be.

This last invitation features a dainty cherry blossom branch against a pink background with a chocolate brown border. It is a simple and sweet choice for the bride who loves girlie things and pink!

The new designs are now available at Belleza e Luce! More new collections will be available later this week!
